Two medical personnel, Dr Adetola Oladunni and Mrs Olajide Durojaye have regained their freedom from their abductors, seven days after they got kidnapped along Imeko/Abeokuta road, on their way to their duty posts at the General Hospital, Imeko.
It was earlier reported last Wednesday that duo were kidnapped along Imeko/Abeokuta road.
Oladunni is the head of Imeko-Afon General Hospital.
They were whisked away by the kidnappers at gunpoint while the Police and other security agencies, including local hunters, were mobilised to ensure their return.
It was also reported that Oladunni had put a call through to one of his colleagues on a mobile phone of a police officer at a checkpoint, informing him about their release.
Although, no information was provided as regards payment of ransom before the two personnel could be released.
The kidnappers had demanded a sum of N20 million.
When contacted, former State Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr Adewunmi Alayaki, confirmed the release of the medical personnel.
He added that ransom was paid to the kidnappers before they could secure the release of the doctor and nurse.
